After Brian's lecture on 13 October 'Photography as Fine Art' he has sent along a list of books you may be interesting in reading.
“How Photography Became Contemporary Art” by Andy Grundberg, published by Yale.
Also, I talked at some length during the lecture about the French photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson. There is a good account of his life: “Henri Cartier-Bresson: a Biography”, by Pierre Assouline, published by Thames & Hudson.
T&H also publish a number of books of Cartier-Bresson’s photographs. I would recommend “Henri Cartier-Bresson: The Man, The Image and The World.”
