The lecture will trace the story of Banksy’s humble beginnings as a grafitti tagger on the streets of Bristol in the 1980’s to one of the most famous artists in the world. We will examine the reasons behind his incredible rise, look at some of his most famous stunts and discuss what his influence has been on the art market today and look at what his legacy, if any, might be.
About the Lecturer
I was born and bred in London and have lived here all his life apart from a year travelling the world in my 20’s. My professional life began working as a stage manager, followed by 15 years as a Tour Manager leading tours of the UK, Ireland and Europe, the USA, Canada, New Zealand and The Middle and Far East.
